about.
My name is Mr. Dan, an innovative, energetic, and caring teacher from Canada with 10+ years of experience, plus expertise with technology (LMS, Google Suites, web design, theater and video production).
As a Drama Educator (grades 4-12) and Upper Elementary Homeroom Teacher, I help kids grow confidence by expressing their own ideas through writing, voice, movement, and use of space. I encourage kids to challenge our understanding of the world by questioning different perspectives (e.g. imagining the home life of a bully) and to expand our awareness of different ways of being (i.e. diversity awareness). Through educational drama we use collaborative dialogue and mutual respect in order to co-construct and share an understanding of how the world is and how the world could be. This includes questioning our performance choices, but also making connections between story content and issues of personal development. It is exciting and rewarding to see kids make connections to big ideas related to environmental and social issues. Of course, overall we are just using games and stories to learn how to play safe and fair, together! My teaching qualifications include: • PYP Category 1, 2, 3 and MYP Visual and Performing Arts for IB curriculum • Bachelor of Education - Junior, Intermediate and Senior (grades 4-12) • Bachelor of Arts (Honors) - Drama in Education and Community • Minor in Psychology
my hobbies.

I love photography and videography. Over the years I got quiet addicted to vintage lenses, mirrorless cameras, and stabilizers.

I love playing fast, intense, and up beat drum rhythms to my favorite punk and ska bands. Self taught, intermediate level, and loving it.

Over the years, I have enjoyed planning and editing video tutorials for a popular gaming YouTube channel I own.
