DRAMA with MR. DAN

As a Drama Educator and Upper Elementary Homeroom Teacher, I help kids grow confidence by expressing their own ideas through voice, movement, and use of space.  I encourage kids to challenge our understanding of the world by questioning different perspectives (e.g. imagining the home life of a bully) and to expand our awareness of different ways of being (i.e. diversity awareness).

Through educational drama we use collaborative dialogue and mutual respect in order to co-construct and share an understanding of how the world is and how the world could be.  This includes questioning our performance choices, but also making connections between story content and issues of personal development.  It is exciting and rewarding to see kids make connections to big ideas in socio-cultural anthropology (i.e. critical race and gender studies).
